The Fourth Kind is a science fiction/thriller/horror film directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, and starring Milla Jovovich. The filmmakers claimed the movie was a documentary reenactment set in Nome, Alaska. Universal Studios has since admitted that the "actual events" and back-story were part of a guerilla marketing campaign. The movie concerns alien abductions. The title is derived from J. Allen Hynek's classification of close encounters with aliens, in which the fourth kind denotes an alien abduction
